Now that summer is winding its way closer, Berlin is all about the open air – exploring the parts of the city that hibernate in winter. And a picnic at the legendary Thai-Park is definitely near the top of Berlin’s summertime bucketlist.

Considering the abundance of Thai restaurants in various corners of Berlin, you’d be forgiven for wondering what the fuss was about. But the Thai-Park is one of the few places where you can browse and feast on home-made, authentic Thai food. Some 30 or so sellers set up shop under parasols, cooking and assembling everything from green papaya salad to grilled thai fish, rice balls, spring rolls, shrimp cakes and much more. Each dish varies between around 2€ to 5€, and the best idea is to go with a group and sample as much as you can. Held every weekend in the finer weather at the Preußenpark in Wilmersdorf, you may have to travel a little bit to get to the west of the city, but trust us, your tastebuds will thank you.
