Natural History Museum

Berlin's incredible Natural History Museum is just around the corner from Miniloftmitte ('Naturkundemuseum' is even our subway stop). With over 30 million objects, the 'Museum für Naturkunde' is one of the most important and largest natural history collections in the world. Visitors are greeted by the world's largest standing dinosaur skeleton, a Brachiosaurus, whose soaring room opens onto halls filled with mineralogical, geological, palaeontological and zoological specimens from 300 years of research (research that is still being carried on today).

We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the vast collections closed to the public last year - an unforgettable experience - and it's one of our favorite places in Berlin. A definite must for kids and the young at heart, and anyone interested in nature or science.
