In light of the climate crisis, wood has experienced a renaissance in construction in recent years. More and more developers and architectural firms are turning to timber and wood hybrid construction at all scales to conserve resources and reduce emissions. In addition to its flexibility, load-bearing capacity, and potential for prefabrication, wood also offers advantages in terms of thermal insulation, health, and aesthetics. The exhibition "Wood's Up!" at Aedes Architekturforum showcases 16 realized and planned timber buildings of different typologies. Local structures, alternative financing models, and ecological aspects play a significant role in the selection of international projects. The focus on sustainable wood hybrid construction methods also opens up perspectives for further new strategies and concepts for the future of this building material.
