Berlin's Berlinale fever is practically melting the snow off the streets, and all we can think about is movies - the perfect time to share the glory of one of our favorite cinemas! Kino Babylon Mitte, next to the Volksbühne theatre (also definitely worth a visit), is one of the oldest cinemas in Berlin, once a highlight of the Jewish quarter, and it still has a 1920s flair. Their programming is prolific and diverse, and the Kino pays homage to their beginnings with weekly silent films with live musical accompaniment - unforgettable! This month the much-hyped newly revamped original version of Fritz Lang's Metropolis, is the highlight, with an orchestra (Feb 26, 27, 19:30, Feb 28, 16:30). Or catch the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain's 'Silent Film Show' - they'll play along to early silent comedies, to hilarious effect.

And of course Babylon is also taking part in the Berlin Film Festival - the kids'and teens' section Generation 14plus screens there.
