Refeshingly, the exhibition shows the lives of East German citizens during the GDR, country that existed from 1949 to 1990.

The exhibition shows numerous documents, film and sound recordings as well as biographical reports about everyday life in the GDR.

Visiting the exhibition is free of charge, takes an hour and is possible in different languages. The Audioguide with 20 listening stations in different languages can also be borrowed free of charge.

Other important events at the Kulturbrauerei are the Lucia Christmas Market or the street food "auf Achse".
