As the final sounds of summer become increasingly distant and thoughts return to daily routines, Berlin gets back to the business of art. Towards the end of September, Art Week kicks into gear, which means collectors, galleries and of course, the artists themselves. It’s an extravaganza of openings, exhibitions, events – and for those with a disposition towards the new, the Preview Berlin Art Fair.

Now in it’s ninth year, the Preview Berlin Art Fair 2013 actually predates the relative newcomer Berlin Art Week by seven years. In that time, the fair has grown rather nicely into the former Tempelhof Airport, with the main hall transformed into one massive art shop window for Berlin’s ever-swelling arts scene. A combination of white cube booths and solo walls showcase the latest and greatest galleries, trends and participants of the art world, with an increasing international presence alongside the rising visitor numbers. Yet, Preview still remains an emerging art fair rooted in Germany, and particularly Berlin. The fair is firmly committed to giving new talent a chance to shine thanks to it’s Focus Academy, in partnership with numerous German art universities, offering exposure and experience to recent graduates. And in addition to the fair itself, Preview also will honour two of the artists represented at the fair in conjunction with Berlin Hyp. Cometh the September, cometh the art.
