January is one of Berlin’s months for mode, with events popping up the length and bredth of the city in honour of Fashion Week. Whilst Tempelhof may be the setting for Bread and Butter and the Brandenburg Tor the spot for the high end glitz of the upmarket brands, there are other parts of the city showcasing design for all tastes.

Accessible by the Mercedes Benz Shuttle bus or a few stops down from the Miniloft hotel on the U6 in Stadtmitte, the Ethical Fashion Show at ewerk promises two days full of fashion with a conscience. The trade only show is in its third year, offering designs fitting of the “green, fair, urban and modern” tagline and with a yearly focus this time falling on upcycling, denim and footwear. Connecting the dots between sustainability, streetwear and casualwear, there’s also room for information exchanges between industry professional regarding the ethical and ecological in fashion. Expect established brands like Studio Jux and Elementum, alongside newcomers such as Aikyou, Stormie Poodle and Milde.
