Take advantage of Berlin's beautiful "Weiße Nächte" (short northern summer nights - literally white nights) in the lovely Monbijoupark, perched on the banks of the Spree River across from the handsome Bode Museum. Its wonderful open air program fills the summer evenings with music, dance, opera and more.

The 'Montagskonzerte' in the small wooden amphitheater present lively folk music from all over the world - Balkan, Klezmer, Canzoni italiane, and Fado (June 14-Aug 30, Mondays at 21:00). Every Sunday free classical concerts are held on the steps of the Bode Museum (Sundays from July 18, 20:30). And six nights a week there's dancing in the beach bar: Mondays and Wednesdays tango, Tuesdays cha cha and waltz, Thursdays salsa, Fridays swing and Saturdays a best-of (starts 20:00; free entry).

During the day Monbijoupark's pool is a hit with kids, and it's all within walking distance of the Miniloft apartments.
